I have always been intrigued by Greek Mythology and the dark nature that nearly all of them share. For this assignment I chose to play with that theme of darkness and show the contrast between the nature of light and dark.
I love your photographs, because I love Greek myths. I like how you captured the beautiful,timeless stories and the darkness of these myths. My favorite photo is the one with Arachne.
I really like all of the photos you took for this assignment, especially the ghost-like ones! I think you chose an awesome theme, and even though I'm not really that knowledgeable about Greek myths, these really are beautiful pictures. One of my favorite pictures is the one with the girl and the guy's hands over her mouth, it's a really moving picture. I especially like the way the pictures are contrasted and edited. You really put a lot of thought into your pictures, by using props and the lighting and it really shows.
I love how eerie these look. My favorites are definitely the third from the top and the third from the bottom--they're both beautifully composed and the tones are great. I also really like how each image is different, but overall they still retain enough similarities that they look like a cohesive piece.
I absolutely love how you composed these pictures. Everyone of them conveys a sense of haunting and opaque feelings. They are all epic and particularly like the images that you took on a high shutter seed to give a blurry ghostlike effect to your subjects. I believe any of these images could stand alone but for the sake of the theme, I believe they need to be together in a collection.
You are such a good photographer. I love all of your images and especially the modern age you put to the concept of tragic Greek characters. When I first heard your idea in class I was wondering how you would manifest your idea. You did an amazing job. These are very haunting and beautiful photographs.
